Frequently Asked Questions

What is an NFC Tag?

NFC, or Near Field Communication, is a technology that allows wireless communication between devices over a short range. An NFC tag is a small chip that can store information, like a web link, which can be read by an NFC-enabled device, such as a smartphone.

How does the TapProducts work?

Simply tap your NFC-enabled smartphone to the TapProduct, and it will automatically direct you to the information or action linked to that specific tag – be it a donation page, event registration, or any other content your church wishes to share.

Which phones are compatible with TapProducts?

Most modern smartphones are NFC-enabled. This includes the latest models of iPhones (iPhone 7 and later) and many Android phones. To check if your phone is NFC-enabled, you can look up your phone model’s specifications online or check in your phone’s settings.

Do I need an app to use ChurchTap?

No, you don’t need any special app. If your phone is NFC-enabled, it can read the TapDot sticker just by tapping it.

Can the TapProducts stickers be customized?

Yes! You can customize your TapProducts with your own design or choose from our range of templates.

Is it possible to reprogram or update the information on a TapProducts?

Currently, our TapProducts are programmed with a fixed URL or message, but we're exploring options for reprogrammable tags in the future. Stay tuned!

Are NFC tags safe to use?

Absolutely! NFC technology is used in many everyday applications, like contactless payments. It’s a secure way to transmit information.

How durable are TapDot stickers?

Our TapDot and QR Code stickers are made of high-quality, durable materials suitable for indoor use. While they are made of paper and not waterproof, they are designed to withstand normal wear and tear in an indoor environment. We also have PET and PVC materials available as custom requests.

What is the range of an NFC tag?

NFC tags typically work over a very short range – usually a few centimeters. This means you need to tap your phone very close to the sticker for it to work, ensuring a deliberate and secure interaction.

Can TapProducts be used outdoors?

Our current TapProducts are designed for indoor use. If there's a demand for outdoor use, we may consider developing a more rugged version in the future.
